Tl;dr I'm not seeing this movie and for the foreseeable future I will be playing Wanda post-WandaVision but with the understanding that A) she has not picked up the Darkhold or B) she has looked at the Darkhold but is stronger than it and is just going about her business.

evreica: (leave falling in love to girls like me)
Since my preferences are so damn specific, here's a character-by-character breakdown of shipping preferences/ideas with Wanda here. And just for the record: I'm very open to multishipping and polyamory! I'll happily assume everyone is poly because Avengers. It makes things fun.

A blanket statement wrt characters' ages: some characters, like Bucky and the Asgardians, are chronologically much older than Wanda, but they're emotionally/physically close enough to her age (which is currently ~32, as she finally has a canon birth year, 1989). I can't really explain why I'm down with this but not with writing her with human(-type) people who are markedly older than her (i.e. 50s+) but that remains to be a fact. Unless it's like, a weird AU where everyone is an immortal or vampire or something and age literally means nothing, that's how I stand.

Also: I write Wanda as primarily sexually submissive. This is not to say that she can't take the lead (especially just in social/romantic situations) or that she would entirely be opposed to topping, but she gets a lot out of submission, psychologically and erotically. It has to be consensual (and at least a little bit her idea, probably) but it's a form of powerful release for her.

Vision: I've really come around on this one, thanks to WandaVision actually exploring the emotional depths of their relationship and bond. The deeply weird but deeply fond nature of this relationship is appealing, now that we know it has both of those elements (and since they've obviously worked through their Civil War issues). I like the contrast between putting on a cute domestic show and then just being a couple of superpowered dorks in private. I'm also very interested in queering their relationship, i.e. playing with a Vision that's not explicitly he/him. Wanda's not a straight person, after all, and I think she was drawn to the fact that Vision inherently exists between categories and expectations.

Natasha: I'd never assume it without permission, but damn, I love these two. I love the potential evolution of mentor/mentee to something more, I love the bonding over tragic Soviet backgrounds, I love these two badass ladies taking care of each other against all odds (Wanda letting Natasha be softer, Natasha letting Wanda let go). There's an interesting balance between overcoming their initial meeting, then bonding for being the only girls on the team, then becoming close just because. And on the subject of letting go: I'd never assume, but I, uh, really quite love domme!Natasha/sub!Wanda. Like, to a noteworthy degree.

Pietro: Nope. Sorry. I'm 100% down for platonic stuff (even featuring like, physical closeness that looks confusingly intimate to outsiders) but I'm not into playing them romantically. This also applies to Fake Pietro, although there's going to be more antagonism and less affection obviously.

Steve: Steve is complicated. They're obviously very close, and I'm not entirely opposed to playing them in romantic/sexual contexts, but I also see Steve as her new big brother. I guess what I'm trying to say is - you know how on True Blood or whatever, it's considered socially acceptable for vampire "family" to bang? I see them as vampire family. There might be some weird blurry lines, but I'm less into them as a proper romance and more into them as close friends who might also do some form of sexy stuff sometimes.

Clint: I'm also not interested in writing these two in a romance. Clint is Dad Friend, period.

Sam: See also re: Steve. I'm slightly more inclined to tip romantically with them, since their relationship is less established on-screen, but I think they've probably got a similar vampire family dynamic going on.

Bucky: They're probably also vampire family, to an extent, but I admit I am interested in them in a more romantic context. They have a lot of similarities (again, tragic Soviet backgrounds; feeling displaced; feeling used) and, quite frankly, they don't have a canon "relationship" so far aside from standing together at Tony's funeral so I think there's more room to play around.

Agatha: This is a weird one, because there's a very certain playing-it-for-laughs, playing-sexy-chicken kind of vibe between them sometimes that's funny, but also anything more serious than that would be way too fucked up.

Monica: Absolutely interested in these two! They clearly have a sort of kinship, despite the circumstances of their meeting, and I can see them being very cute together, especially in a triad with...

Darcy: Okay, so they didn't actually interact on screen, but they're clearly aware of each other. I like this vibe because Darcy is smart and obviously understands what's up with Wanda's whole deal, but also she doesn't take things seriously all the time, and Wanda really needs a good laugh and someone who's got her back.

quick facts

evreica: (meant to be sparks of light)
canonpoint: defaults to post-WandaVision.
favorite threads: teamwork and friendship, hurt/comfort, shy smol exploring regular human things like intimacy.
nos: kinks on the below no list, extreme violence/torture/death, dub/non-con (not just sex), exclusively negative CR, unexamined bigotry, alignment switch/actually Hydra-supportive AUs.

age: it's official, she was born in 1989. So.
shipping: permissions/kinks here. Female-leaning demi-bisexual demiromantic, contextually open to smut (and she's pretty kinky when she feels safe); very open to Vision, especially fond of Natasha, other shipping notes here.
cultural background: white-passing mixed Jewish/Roma raised in Sokovia (Eastern Europe), chaos magic is in her DNA I guess, culturally Jewish but not able to practice fully.
  • ON LANGUAGE: it is my assumption that the Sokovian language/dialect is, while similar to other Slavic languages, not widely spoken outside of Sokovia itself. Therefore, I play by the assumption that Wanda knows Romanian and Russian as well, plus English (and some Hebrew and Romani).
demeanor: quiet, unnerving (sometimes consciously), very intelligent but occasionally naive, often furious, wry, disbelieving, often very sad.
mental health: autism, depression, anxiety, PTSD, survivor's guilt. Selectively non-verbal. Oh, and being able to manipulate and sense others' minds. #justmagicthings
physical health: relatively waiflike, fragile though not tiny, resilient. Lots of little scars if you know to look for them. (A few are from self-harm, but she's not going to bring that up without serious prompting.)
aesthetic: baby goth in a 90s movie who grew up.
evreica: (leave falling in love to girls like me)
Short version:
  • Kinsey 4 and demisexual/demiromantic.
  • Fairly inexperienced, considering her life, and fundamentally fascinated by potential sexuality and both sides of kink so long as it's done safely, but honestly more of a sub when it comes down to it.
  • As shipping goes: yes to Natasha, yes to Sharon, yes to Daisy, yes to Raina, yes to Jemma, yes to Sif, yes to Nebula, yes to Gamora, yes to Carol, yes to Val, yes to Monica, yes to Darcy, probably to... basically every other woman that's not an outright evil horrorshow, usually kinda feeling it with Bucky, feeling much more comfortable and interested in playing with Vision, let's talk about most of the male protagonists not listed (Loki included), haha no to Tony and Clint and Pietro (for different reasons each), double haha no to any of the male antagonists.
